Solution
The diaphragm metering pump and process pump of Shunzi Machinery can meet all the relevant requirements of the supercritical process, so they are very suitable for use in the corresponding process.
The advantages of Shunzi mechanical pump
No leakage at all
Layout of high-pressure pumps and external equipment for liquefied gas (refrigeration equipment)
Suitable for thin, non-lubricated media
High operational reliability
As the pump head has fewer moving parts, it has low wear and almost no particle contamination
Easy to clean, food grade design
Hygienic design for the pharmaceutical field (Ra < 0.5 μm electropolishing, ASME BPPE, EHEDG)
In GMP area/clean room
The material complies with FDA (US Food and Drug Administration), (GRAS: Generally Recognized Safety) specifications
Can be installed in explosion-proof areas
Ideal pump head material, such as Hastelloy, can be used for highly corrosive media
Various interface forms
Customized valve
Quality approval/certification documents
Verified by Germany (Fraunhofer IPA test equipment) for wafer cleaning
Carbon dioxide must be transported in a liquid state. Because its gaseous state has great compressibility, it is not practical to transport in the gaseous state.
Background description
Supercritical medium refers to the state where its temperature and pressure exceed its critical point at the same time (see CO2 phase diagram).
The critical temperature of a substance: When it is higher than the critical temperature, the substance cannot form a liquid state no matter how high the pressure is.
The critical pressure of a substance: When it is higher than the critical pressure, the substance cannot form a gaseous state no matter how high the temperature is.
The substance in the supercritical state has the density of the fluid and the good dissolution characteristics of the fluid, including its viscosity, good compressibility, and gaseous diffusivity. They are defined as fluids because of their good mixing and material transport properties.
Important advantages of supercritical media:
Safe, cost-effective, environmentally friendly, non-toxic
Replaceable organic solvent
The reaction parameters are easy to adjust
The operating environment is low temperature and low pressure, which is used in the fields of pharmaceutical and biotechnology research and development
Selection criteria for supercritical media:
Physical-chemical properties of the mixture
The role of solvent in process reaction is related to its solubility
Specialized application areas
Safety, especially regarding flammability, phase behavior under operating conditions
Media price
Equipment cost
The most commonly used supercritical medium is CO2.
The characteristics of CO2:
Low critical temperature (31.1°C)
Moderate critical pressure (73 bar)
Non-flammable
Non-toxic
Easy to mix with organic solvents
Recyclable
Disperse faster than traditional solvents
Generally recognized as safe
Approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries
Not harmful to the environment
Cost economy
