Solution
The advantages of Shunzi mechanical methanol injection skid:
Reliable and completely leak-free, pressure up to 1200 bar
The M900 pump head adopts a spring-loaded diaphragm return stroke, which has excellent inlet suction capacity.
Long service life of the diaphragm (experience proves that it can be used for more than 10,000 hours)
The reliable and fast diaphragm alarm system makes it have the greatest reliability under extreme pressure conditions
Diaphragm replacement is simple and fast
All moving parts of the pump head are protected by oil bath lubrication
The special design of Shunzi Machinery can easily overcome high inlet pressure and close at high discharge pressure
Low maintenance requirements and alarm reliability
Suitable for manual or unmanned operation
Designed for continuous or intermittent use in low/medium or high pressure injection fields
The use of a sandwich diaphragm can avoid costly production shutdown losses: there is no need to stop the pump immediately; the operation can continue until the maintenance personnel arrive on site or wait for repairs
Other advantages:
Compact structure, modular design, can save more installation space (for example, used in oil floating vessel FPSO)
Flow rate from several hundred (continuous injection) to several thousand liters per hour (intermittent metering) becomes possible
Even if there is no buffer tank, multiple pumps with precise phase staggered can be used to reduce pulsation and unify the flow specification.
Since the crankshaft transmission case adopts oil bath and splash lubrication, no additional lubricating oil pump that needs to be tested and controlled is required.
Background introduction
Methanol is a by-product in the refinery process
Methanol characteristics
Methanol is very flammable and burns with a bright flame. The flame is almost invisible during the day, which makes it very dangerous. This forms a flammable gas/mixture, which can be ignited by static electricity (even if the concentration is less than 25%). Its decomposition products are carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and formaldehyde.
Methanol itself is non-toxic, but the fermentation enzymes in the human body absorb methanol and form formaldehyde and formic acid with it. These products are very reactive (formaldehyde) or very acidic (formic acid). Its reaction time in the human body exceeds 15 hours, so it is generally difficult to determine the poisoning caused by methanol. Therefore, methanol must be handled with great care and the process is as tight as possible to ensure a tight seal and no leakage.
Small-dose hydrate polymerization inhibitor
In some special applications, so-called LDHI (low-dose hydrate inhibitor to replace methanol) is used. For example, the downstream refining process cannot use methanol. Since the last refining process uses biological methods, the use of methanol will kill the microorganisms used for decomposition. But because LDHI is much more expensive than methanol, it is only used in this very special case.
During use, it must be considered that the injection volume of LDHI is very small, usually 1/10 or 1/20 of the methanol injection volume. In addition, they are very easy to crystallize and abrasive under high pressure conditions (>350 bar), for example, this requires the use of tungsten carbide valves.
